Any Hajime No Ippo fans here?

I didn't see it on the master list so I was just wondering lol. I hope there are at least a few people here who read such an awesome sports (boxing) manga.

I used to, and it was captivating and I watched the anime as well.
I kind of stepped back a bit because eventually (for me) it just felt like the same thing over and over.
Step 1: There's going to be a fight.
Step 2: Training montage/Epiphany/Misc.
Step 3: Fight, end on Cliffhanger
Step 4: Twist, Fight, Cliffhanger
Step 5: End, Hint at next fight.
Mind you, I read/watched as much as I could within the span of a month. That may have been my problem.

Still read it. Manga is awesome! Love Takamura antics. Especially the banana suprise after the fight with Gedo the magican.

Yeah its true that the fights all have similar plot structure and Ippo's recent opponents don't have necessary buildup to make them as awesome as Sendo or Sawamura. But have you read the more recent chapters? They focus a lot more on Itagaki, I can't really decide whether I like them or not, but I think it'll be great if he turns out to be Ippo's next major antagonist.
