6:25 is where i stopped.. because the dude is so fucking wrong on so many levels.
1. Yes anime companies in the west are dying.. not because weebs torrent anime literley a hour for those who read the moonrunes, and couples days for the fansubs.... It's because dvd and blurays are sooo fucking expensive and there a low weeb customer based.. it like selling ice cream to people who live in the ice and snow. Do you know the avg american know anime has that jap shit with rape and squid arms... best point. there a avg 30million people watching let's say house md... do you know the avg for bleach, or when anime was on free tv.. 10-15 thousand people. Ax a major con got 20,000 total a four day event.. 20,000 .. the porn con got triple.
second problem is YES THE ANIME BASE IN JAPAN IS WAY FUCKING BIGGER AND MORE CRAZY then us. Example, comiket 78( which i attended) was packed tight all three days. I went in with 100,000 yen/1,000$(roughly), I left with -300$. The girl and my wife.. Left with my paycheck. The group of friends spend close to 100,000$ combine.. there was four of them... and they are japs. Funamintion, geneon, bandai, adv aka newtypeusa.. im sad they failed but hey it like selling crack to the Mormon church on sunday.
Blaming the fans for companies retardation is total wrong.. but pirating legal ware is also.. if you can find the dvd of this or that animu mango.. then buy them, but with that in mind.. new anime is 49.95 for maybe 1-6 or one season.. i bought outlaw star for 9.95 unopen, i seen dbz the complete set for 69.95 that like 7 or 8 seasons. Also i been a supporter for fansubs since 1997 when all we had was a 6 gen ranma 1/2 vhs or vcd's. Hand written subs on dot matrix paper. When ranma was 129.95 a season.
Yes we should support our local markets but they should support us by making it available cheaper or hell 99cent via stream 1.99 for dl. Because we have to know if it good before we spend cash for something and it be horrible.. like all the anime he showed except outlaw star, beck, and i forgot the other one and i not going to watch again.

wow quite serious... anyway yeah i agree, many weebs are jobless or don't earn a lot of money and that makes it impossible to buy anything... many others are pirates-for-life... most are both(myself)...

Your right. I hate converting via my pothead mind sometimes. Also when i was over there first 100yen=1$ I just never upgraded the conversion chart.. i love my phone, It does it for me.

I agree with most of what you said there I'm a college student so free shit is a major part of my life but i still try to support by going on the legal anime sites but i don't have the money to spend $40 on 6 episodes.

Whenever somebody talks about how the anime industry is "dying," it always comes down to vilifying the fans. I mean, he did touch on the fact that it is a complex issue, but then he went on to talk about only one factor, as if it were the only factor, and I find that highly irresponsible.
Another thing to consider is that he's hearing that anime is "dying" from "the voice actors and top employees of every major anime company." These are people who have a vested interest in seeing anime do better than it currently is, and by saying that the anime industry is "dying," they could possibly drive revenues up due to people rallying to "save" the "dying" anime industry. I'm not saying this is necessarily the case, but that's something to consider.
I also take issue with his passive-aggressive jabs at otaku. Like it or not, they are the ones keeping anime alive, and the industry is going to cater to whoever's paying. The presenter has an entitled attitude about Western-oriented anime that really bothers me. At the end of the day, anime companies don't need to create any Western-oriented anime. At all. We're lucky we got the ones we have. People like the presenter need to learn that anime is a Japanese product, and them producing shows to appeal to anybody but their own demographics should not be taken for granted.
