With Amagami, each girl has their own separate story arc. So the guy only ends up with one girl.

QFT. There's no "stupid" competition for Love attention, and there's only one girl who actually likes him per Arc. So, no it's not a Harem anime.

I would have to disagree because through the course of the anime he does obtain all the girls, even if it isn't in the same arc.

But he doesn't end up with all of them at the same time, which is what constitutes a harem. It's a harem anime, no doubt- but he doesn't obtain an actual harem.

I agree. I would only consider Amagami a Harem if, at the end, the director's decided to take all of the girls, shove them in Junichi's face, and he runs away from all of them like a coward. That's definitely not going to happen so.

As stated...only one girl per arc. However should there be a special episode with all of the girls vying for him, then it's different.

The breaking of the fourth wall during the previews sorta helps the idea that it is a harem. It is acknowledge that he gets every girl, even if it isn't at the same time. Like you said McGee, it is a harem anime. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Over the course of the anime Jun'ichi will have acquired every girl even if he does it via breaking up the story.

Analogy: You have every flavor wine in front of you but only have one glass. You can only try one wine at a time, but you still have every bottle and flavor at your disposal.

So whether if he actually gets a harem would then hinge upon the shows format, I suppose.

But seriously, Amagami is not a harem anime, and stop breaking the 4th wall, since there's no wall to begin with. There's no fact that Junichi actually got them all.

Amagami has never been a harem story, even in the VN each heroines never compete to get Junichi's Love. The facts is still each arcs is a different parallel world, so you can't just "merge" them together. It's a reset not a continuation.

In the end, the fact is you only drink 1 wine. Even in a parallel world you'll still only drink 1 wine.

1. There's more than 2 Girls in the show
2. All the girls Love the protagonist At the same time
3. All the girls will compete to get the protagonist affection
4. Protagonist is likely to be indecisive


Amagami does not have point 2, 3, and 4.
2. In different Arc there's only one girl that loves the protagonist
3. Only one girl tries to get the protagonist affection
4. Protagonist cannot be indecisive since there's only one girl as the Love focus.

It is not a harem anime. He doesn't have multiple girls on him at once. Just because there's multiple girls featured doesn't mean it's a harem. It is like choose your route and the girls are the options like in real life. And there is not personal view on what a harem is as the word has just one set definition.

What Kaimax point out sum it all. Amagami is not a harem anime as he never ended with more than one woman in one time. He just focused on one woman till the end.

I don't think is a harem anime because it's divided on arcs, and that means the lead going for just one girl, also, as long as the series goes the main character just focus on one girl and don't go for the life being a jack of all trades with girls and then pick one, he just fall for a girl and go for her.

and that my friend is not a harem, if the guy ends up with Kaede, kaoru and sae that would be a harem, but that's not the case, so this is not harem at all.
