I've been waiting for this in such a long time. I was rather hoping for a "full-length" series but it only gets a 2-part OVA instead. It should do just fine for now I guess. There's always a possibility that exists depending on its success - its reception and reviews. For now, I'd be keeping my fingers cross in hope that the OVAs would do well, as to even exceed my expectations. :D (actually, this should pretty much serve as a prequel) - only those who have read the manga would know what I mean.
Enough of my rambling, here's more info about it:
Wiki wrote...
Set in a post-apocalyptic world where violence, crime, genetic manipulation and other cruel scientific experiments have become common, the story focuses on four main characters who, through a series of coincidences, meet as they search for a way "below", looking for answers to their individual pasts.
The cast of seiyuus from the "Drama CD" shall reprise their respective roles in the OVA. (as far as the main characters are concerned, it's all good)
Haine Rammsteiner (Takahiro Sakurai) Badou Nails (Akira Ishida) Naoto Fuyumine (Shizuka Itou) Mihai Mihaeroff (Akio Ohtsuka)
So DOGS is finally getting animated eh ? Never got too familiar with the manga but what I've read about it plus the awesome art that cough my eye from time to time, had me constantly longing to see this in motion. Guess wishes do come true sometimes.
Waited long ENOUGH?! Thank GOD someone (finally!) uploaded the first episode on youtube! (Why the heck didn't I find it sooner?!)
Well, I can now put my frustrations to rest. It's way past about time, but at least it's finally here and that's what matters the most. :D
One thing though that I'm still quite pissed about is that... ugh... too short, it was way tooo short! (just about 30 mins long!) Like I've said before, I do hope it gets its much deserved TV series sometime soon; by the end of the year, or even so next year, I hope. Nevertheless, it was a pleasure to watch. BADOU FTW! - since when did an Ingram look this cool?! ...SHIT! I've just noticed, I've run out of cigarettes myself! and the nearest store won't be open till the sun rises... no kiddin'!
@Das: Have you seen it yet? It's obviously un-sub'd yet (just to be clear to everyone). If you'd ask me personally (having seen it and all), I don't think they screwed up or anything. It may have not exceeded my expectations but seriously, to hell with my expectations, I still enjoyed it! I hope you would too, but not that I'd care much either way. Just let me hear it (your thoughts), that's all.
PS: the guilt of divorcing Nao has only started to sink in...
Although I'm happy with the series being animated, I gotta say I'm a little disappointed with the animation quality. And the slow pace and almost static background kinda turn my mood down. I dunno, maybe it's just me -__-
Oh, and I don't like Badou's VA. Less badass than I imagined.
Sorry it took me this long to comment hermit but old people tend to get picky about their releases.
Anyways (coming, as previously mentioned, from someone unintroduced to the manga) my impression after those 2x15 minutes (fucking too short) is that I definitely liked it.
It had a nice feel to it with likable, contrasting and skilfully over-exaggerated characters, stylish art (it ain't only about high budget and special effects for me) and retro music, amounting to a pleasant Baccano/Gungrave-like experience.
It still needs some work to earn that 'carnage' in the title though.
I'm definitely looking forward to the second part, especially since (from my limited knowledge) it's gonna introduce characters even more appealing to myself.
I truly wish this short prelude gave birth to a full-size product as opposed to serving as a (pretty damn good IMHO) teaser to the manga.
PS/ You let go of one sweet piece of ass hermit. Damn right you should feel guilty :P
PS2/ One minor complain I forgot. I DO NOT LIKE seeing half-nekid old men on beds in my EDs !
BTW for those who haven't watched it yet - the version done by them yuuris gave me no reason to complain :

I just finished ep. 1 and I have to say I'm very pleased with this series so far.
Gonna give the manga a shot sooner or later.
I have to admit though getting fired from the mafia? I'm pretty sure he'd just get a bullet between his eyes xD Awww... I thought that son was kinda badass. Turns out hes just a pussy oh well. Nice blend of comedy and violence. This shows got me hooked.
