So after dishing out two essays and going to some classes this afternoon, I needed a nap. And for whatever reason, I had this nightmare: ads about Gurren Lagann premiering on Cartoon Network. My dream persona was horrified.

Yeah class the week before thanksgiving break sucks. We can only hope that Gurren Lagann is never picked up in the United States.

Hell I think the U.S butchers anything that comes over from Japan ( animated shows ) Like Naruto, One Piece (Even though it was alright). I mean, I think they used Brocks voice from Pokemon for one of the characters in Naruto, maybe..Sasuke? Not too sure..

Don't worry 4kids isn't doing the dub. Actually, it has already been liscenced by ADV. Whether they'll do a good job on it is to be seen, though.
If it was on AS, I'm not sure how I'd feel. Part of me wouldn't mind it becoming popular, but the other part of me...

Funny enough, my friends and I were talking about the same thing last week. If you think about it, Gurren-Laggan is one of the most likely shows to get redubbed for the states.
Of course, that whole drilling thing will have to be censored out: It could be viewed as a possible sexual reference. And Yoko? Are you insane? You cant show that on CN! Let's just make her a nun. Now add in some rock music, censor out the blood, delete episode 8 altogether, create a toy-line, and there you have it! The newest phenomenon to grace the united states: TENGA TOPPA GURREN-LAGGAN!

Hey, it was licsensed by ADV, not 4kids. Also, if it did end up on CN, it would be on Adult Swim. Regardless, I'm guessing in some AU right now the dub of TTGF right now. Kamina didn't die, he just went on a trip with his father.
Still, if they were to translate the title (a non 4kids translation mind you) it would probably be translated at Break Through: Gurren Laggan or Through the Heavens: Gurren Laggan.
