As some of you might have noticed, I only watch/read completed anime/manga. Therefore, the topics I add tend to be of animes that have been completed for quite abit.
Anyway onto the topic at hand, I just completed this great anime. El Cazador de la Bruja. Heres the synopsis from ANN.
And here it is: Ellis, a young girl suspected of murdering a prominent physicist Heinrich Schneider, is on the run from an underground society called "Hunters" when she is tracked down by the bounty hunter Nadi in a small Mexican town. However, instead of turning her in, Nadi impulsively decides to help her and the two girls embark on a journey to Ellis' hometown, where they plan on finding clues about her past. From there, they travel south to search for the mysterious Gemstone of the Inca Rose, the "Eternal City" of Wiñay Marka, and Ellis' own obscure destiny.
Heres what I think of the anime. Apprantly this anime follows the same plot of the creators previous two anime series (Madlax and Noir both of which I have not watched...). Which is having a female gunslinger help a mysterious girl uncover her mysterious past. However it is kinda unique as it is set in modern Mexico.
The pace is perfect with enough episodes for character development and plot. However though main plot was quite well done, the various pasts of the side characters and even Nadie was left untouched. Theres probably enough material here to make a new series...
Characters are all extremely likeable with cute/sexy/smart character designs all fitting their personalities. Heres Lirio who is amazingly cute (there is no way you can not like her)
On to the sound. Ah awesome music that is unique and fits very well with the theme. Well the best way to convince you would be to provide some samples.
and finally the OP and ED to give you a general idea of the animation style and stuff. Also I have no idea who the masked guy is in ED. Maybe its me :). Maskedsatyr! hehe.....
Give this anime a try if you arent too particular about plot holes and you wont regret!
Edit: Woot I managed to get the image into the title thingy.
I kinda dropped it half way, because this show lacks "impact", in other words to bland.
I also dropped it half way. I remember a couple of gay mercenaries trying to hunt down the weird (but cute) loli. Even though I really never have an objection to hot women with guns, this anime couldn't keep my attention. However, I think I'm going to give it a 2nd try and finish it up.
I'm curious as to why not 1 but 2 of the people who replied to this topic dropped this anime 1/2 way. Not once throughout the anime did I feel it was boring/bland. Are you guys not a fan of journey types of anime with the background plot being revealed bit by bit and with new trials awaiting the main characters every episode?
Or is this one of those anime that you can't get into for some weird reasons. I have some anime like that as well. Anime that are widely accepted as being awesome but I find boring...
Maybe I'm the weird one for liking this anime haha..
