Found a really good deal today at Best Buy

I found a real treasure when I stopped into Best Buy today, A boxset for Slayers which included all three seasons, Slayer, Slayers Next, and Slayers Try for 60 bucks. I'm a total fan of the slayers series but a lot of people might not know it since it is a really old series I think it's at least a decade old or more. I was really stoked when I found it and I also happened to make a new anime friend named Jay who worked in the store and who also claimed to be one of the people responsible for the design of the character Horo from the series Spice and Wolf. Whether he was telling the truth I have no clue although if it was true I find it a little strange he is working in a best buy considering his success. We had a long talk about different anime and japanese culture.

Anyway, I just wanted to share the good news and brag about my awesome find

My money's on him being full of it. I had a friend a long time ago who would make up stuff like that on a daily basis, and it almost seemed like he had convinced himself it was true.

But grats on the find, Slayers is a pretty old series.

Slayers may be old, but its still an ongoing series. I'm anxiously waiting for season 4 on DVD, and i'm in the process of reading Slayers - Knight of the Aqua Lord.

I know, the dialogue in slayers is pretty corny but in a makes me laugh really hard kind of way. For example when Amelia starts on one of her love and justice speeches. Those always crack me up but it balances itself out. Theres a good mixture of action and comedic hijinks followed by the occasional Dragon Slave fired for no reason other than because Lina feels like it

slayers has so many different series im suprised it's not it's own genre yet >_>

but on a serious note it is a good anime i like it

For 60 bucks, it's somehow good. Makes up for a collector's happiness, ain't it ^_^

That friend of yours, be wary of him. I mean, he's have to be an acquaintance of Juu Ayakura to have cred like that. And it's pretty suspicious he's just your local Best Buy worker if he had that talent he's claiming to have had. But I feel it's a fib, so just chew his claims but don't swallow it.

Slayers is awesome, and that's an awesome deal. People claiming they did shit they can't possibly have....not awesome. Unless they trick gullible people into believing them, then it's awesome. Awesome.

That is a pretty awesome deal. Yeah, my Best Buy has been good to me too. I managed to pick up all Elfen Lied for $20-25 (can't quite remember) and Witch Hunter Robin for $40. I love to bash them because their collection has been dwindling to nothing more than the mainstream Bleach, FMA, Naruto stuff (at least at my store,) but they have been good to me a few times.

I had a friend who claimed he had PS9.
This was before the PS2 even came out.
