#21 The Door to Innovation


Setsuna tells Saji that there was no other alternate to save Lyle. When the ship power gets turned off, Saji notices Setsuna's eyes a digital hue. Wang Liu Mei survived and sent a message telling the Ptolemios to meet her at Lagarange 5 Eclipse Colony. Setsuna and Saji sortied to meet with her while the ship tries to lure A-Laws away.


Liu Mei wants to change the world and was willing to give up everything, wealth, status, for her own future. Nena interrupts and kills Hong Long. Liu Mei escapes but Nena chooses not to follow yet. Setsuna rendezvous at the colony and receives the coordinates to Veda from Liu Mei.


When Setsuna returns to 00, he finds Graham who requests a duel between them. Setsuna accepts and the two fight. Meanwhile, Liu Mei escapes but was then killed by Nena in Throne Drei. Obeying only the Innovators until she can betray them later to avenge her brothers, Ribbons tells her that her role in this was over through her Haro and that an individual will pass on judgment. Thinking it's was going to be Saachez, Nena was surprised to see that it was Louise instead in her Regnant mobile armor. Recognizing Throne Drei as the Gundam that killed her parents, Louise goes into a rampage and quickly mauls Throne Drei to a mere cockpit. Saying that her parents weren't able to say they didn't want to die, Louise quickly destroys the Nena's cockpit, instantly killing her. Louise then goes into a child-like state wanting her parent's praise for avenging them.

At a stalemate, Setsuna and Graham activates their Trans-Am and continues their fight. They are then transported into the dream-like world. Setsuna then declares that he understands why Aeolia created the GN Drives. To advance humanity towards innovation.

You beat me to it. Oh well.

So Liu Min and Hong Long managed to escape death, only to be killed. What was the point of having Nena show up earlier then? Just before Nena died, she started sounding like Liu Min, so I'm glad they are all gone. Now if Louise can get emotionally stable, then I can begin to like the characters again.

Also, is it just me, or has Sumeragi looked very flat-chested lately?

I thought the same, but scene the episode focus was away from Ptolemios I didn't look again.
Just the fact that Grahmam was just there waiting and all, I just thought Saji was such a pussy, my reason for this is, can't he detect an incoming unit, then at that point he'd yell for Setsuna to come back or something? Then again it just me, it seemed way to easy for Graham to get what he wanted (not complaining thou i wanted to see them fight too)
Nena's now gone....now what does Louise do? well she's got no other purpose now, make up with Saji and die, or don't make up with Saji and die, either way I always thought she'd die by series end.

It might be the normal suit that made Sumeragi's boobs look flat.

I was kinda hoping Nena was going to get a shot at Ali before kicking the bucket but that didn't happen. I didn't think Hong Long deserved to die like that. He really didn't do anything wrong like his sister. I thought he was pretty cool. Looks like Louise now falls into the category of psycho girls in big mobile suits. Honestly I don't want her to live when it ends.

Guess it had to happen sooner or later ...


Didn't smoke anything to my knowledge. Simply had a spare 15 minutes on my hands.

Good ep BTW. Would have been better if not for :

a) The substantial rise of the gayness factor at the end
b) Louise becoming even more emo
c) That song ...

Is there really a point for all them spoilers ? It's not that we know the future or something :)

As for the whole Setsuna evolution, let's face it - it's most likely yet another step towards connecting with all of humanity and murdering uniting it with Marina's song and/or a bunch of empty ideals.
I wanna be wrong about this but the series seems fixed on a that (or similar) direction.

This is why I love(ed) Nena (sob, sob, sob ...), Ali and few others so much. They are the sparks of chaos in all of this making the series less predictable and thus more interesting. That and they're also unique and don't waste the screentime they are given.

Good thing they show the scene where 00Raiser taking care of the innovators from the last episode. Also Louise owning Nena with the transforming Regnant pretty much makes me happy. You break it, you pay for it.

Hmm, mentally unstable female character in MA that turns into gigantic MS never have good ending in Gundam series. I wonder if this will change in Gundam 00...

Heh, I kinda pity Saji that his girlfriend turned out like this. I wonder how he is gonna get her back with her current state.

Anyway, it's been a while since I heard from you ShadowRonald. Still remains without a face I see... :)

well, i just hope saji doesnt turn out to be like shinn if and when louise dies =X
