Hajime no Ippo

There's only one manga I look forward to more every week than Ippo and that's one piece. Ippo revolves obviously around a kid named Ippo who enters boxing in search of the meaning of real strength. Sounds boring right? Well, the story may be weak (its a sports manga, what do you expect) but the fights are just plain awesome. I've seen Ippo in matches against rookies all the way to taking on national champions and rarely have I found matches repetitive. A lot of humor is injected in the story and it doesn't hurt that the art is great. Even if you weren't into boxing or sports, Ippo is still a great read that I recommend.

Oh it's Woli and Ippo's gaze chin hit.

Man I bet Woli's gonna have a comeback on the later rounds like Randy Boy Jr. did to Miyata, if not he's just BIG fodder upset for Ippo.

It's quite obvious that Woli will have his say in the fight. The question is how? Both Randy Boy and Gedo Malcolm got screwed in the early rounds of their fights only to make a comeback in the later rounds. Their comeback was made possible by their ability to confuse opponents. Ippo is known for driving opponents to the ropes and corners and he will undoubtedly try to corner Woli. This is where Woli stages his comeback. His knack for getting out of the corners with relative ease is what will keep Ippo at bay. I seriously doubt Woli has developed a special move after only 3 fights, so the only way I see Woli dishing out some damage is by landing quick shots on a frustrated Ippo who is having difficulty solving Woli's escape act. But I doubt Ippo takes long solving the trick, and when that happens, Woli's done for. Ippo in 5-6 rounds.

I love this series - created my love for boxing. Ippo is so awesome, and the fights he partakes in are nothing but full of win.

Miyata's copying Date's head turn and crocksrew, but became a crocksrew counter
Ippo having great defense as seen in the latest chapter and using Date's Heart Break Shot on Gedo in the previous chapters.

Now Iam awaiting Vorg and Sendo's power up...

I hope Ippo beats Woli, but looking at the latest chapters...so far the fight is going total pwnage by Woli. This might be his 2nd defeat...
