You don't have to. If you at least know the main part of the Inu Yasha story, then skip the whole chapter until the the last one (558), you'll still understand the ending. Unless of course you want to read about the final battle with Naraku, then you need to read a couple chapters before the end.
Heck, I didn't even read any single chapter of Inu Yasha. I did follow the anime until the end though. Just assume that the last anime episode is the final confrontation with Naraku, then the ending followed after that is at chapter 558.
