Synopsis: Yukihira Souma’s dream is to become a full time chef in his father’s restaurant and surpass his father’s culinary skill. But just as Yukihira graduates from middle schools his father, Yukihira Jouichirou, closes down the restaurant to cook in Europe. Okay, I am sorry for bumping this, I have read this over and over and I have to admit...it is the greatest masterpiece I have ever read, and that is coming from me. Hell the only waifu I remember is from this manga. The art work is excellent and the fan service is great but what really got me was the fact that it is all about cooking.
The story line is great, but I feel that the protagonist Souma should be taken down a peg, he's to good. The antagonist is very Tsun toward him.
You know what, read this manga people! Read it!

I've read this. It's packed with comedy and the artwork is pretty good too. It's similar to Addicted to Curry in a sense. The main character is an aloof but highly skilled chef, and when times matter the most he starts to show his true colors.
Definitely worth a read, not recommended for anyone who hates short, ongoing mangas though. There's literally like 20 chapters, and it may be heart breaking to wait for more. I know it was for me.

Sorry for bumping this, but Chapter 29 just came out and I'm wondering what Souma is planning cooking. Anyone have an idea?

The art of Shougeki no Souma is made by Tosh, a Hentai artist famous for Works like Menkui or Harem Time. And in my opinion, one of the best Hentai artist when it comes to drawing. It's nice to see him working in a serious manga. Also, he puts his erotic inluence in this work with the foodgasms. When a character eat a delicious dish, it's like he's having an orgasm. You only have to read the first chapter to understand wath I mean.
And this makes me think that if someone makes a doujin of Shougeki no Souma, it will be a Hentai doujin based on a manga made by a Hentai artist.XD That will be very strange.
