I have a hard time believing that is really Itachi, but I wouldn't complain if it is, I liked Itachi.

Hm... so Itachi finds his way back to the Naruto storyline. But I think it's another one of his fail-safes (like Sasuke's Susano'o and the black flame).
Also, the fail-safe he "fed" Naruto in one of the chapters shown after he died.

The entire series is genjutsu. Some old guy's telling his grandkid a story and wants to make it seem ultra-realistic, so he put the kid in the story as Naruto.
