I really like Gaara, so I don't mind the time he has gotten these past couple chapters.

Looking forward to what Naruto and Itachi have to say to each other.

Yeah it's nice to see that Gaara gets some more development, he's really come a long way since the first half of Naruto and it's nice to see that he gets some answers and revelations about his past, guy's had a hard life, glad that he gets to know he was actually loved.

now that i think about it...Itachi and Naruto never really interacted much with one another. im starting to look forward to it as well.

Also just to clarify, that auto protect sand thing Gaara has, thats really his mother protecting him?

Seems like it from what Gaara's father was saying. That would explain why he never lost the power to control sand after Shukaku was removed.

Going all the way back to when Naruto first encountered Itachi and received a crow which went down his throat. Hope that thing'll finally be explained. That might even be something Itachi planned to use against himself, somehow predicting that he'll end up dead, revived AND faced with Naruto.

Didn't Itachi explain it was something to help him against Sasuke or something? Never was entirely explained though.
