Well, the closest thing I can think of was Guyver.

You never know. A Power Rangers anime may get produced someday, though I doubt the chances of it happening would be rather low.

Then again, with so many live-actions movies adapted from anime series, I wouldn't be surprised if a live-action series gets adapted into an anime title, perhaps with some fanservice thrown in too. :D

It is fucking hilarious. At least, the dub is. I've heard the subbed version is, too, I just haven't seen it.

I think I know what you're talking about. It was a scene from the beginning of Perfect Blue with the Power Rangers theme song.

In the movie, it was a thing for kids which are pretty normal (at least according to anime), a sort of exhibition where the warriors of a popular series put on a show for kids, where they defeat a monster and "save" the audience.

I would have put an anime on Power Rangers before Powerpuff Girls, that's for sure. Reality disproves, sadly; I think that the main reason that there's never been one is that the world would immediately implode from overexposure to raw win. It’s all scientific stuff; it’s been proved.
