I know, sankakucomplex. BUT HEY, WHAT THE HELL, IT'S RUROUNI KENSHIN.

I am so freaking looking forward to this. Not only will the old generation be hit with nostalgia, the newer generation will finally be informed as to why we love this series.

Although I do have to worry if they don't follow the manga like the original anime series did (only followed up to shishio's arc), since after the shishio arc, everything else just went downhill from there

As long as the characters are consistent, I'll be fine with anything. This is great news.

Is it going to continue the kenshin arc via after ova Reflection or Yahiko arc beginning like in the manga?

And I'm very excited about this. I thought something was up when two new figures of Kenshin were announced/psp game. I'm hoping that it will be some kind of revamp, like FMA: Brotherhood.

I just hope for no more fillers.

Amakusa Arc was good, but then came the feng-shui arc...

Yeah, that as well. Fillers are what really killed my interest in the original anime series.

Is this going to be an alternate retelling like FMA:Brotherhood?
If so, I think I'll be looking forward to it.

Kinda feel that Rurouni Kenshin didn't need to do it again since what was done was great. However, having it in HD sounds pretty nice so I'm in for that at least. Now in what direction will they take the story in?

I just hope they respect the 90's warm drawing style. This was one of the first series I ever watched and It's a shame if they screw this up. You really don't tend to remember battle scenes in anime but in Kenshin they were just EPIC :D

Only one good thing came of the fillers of the original anime: The episode where Kaoru thinks Kenshin has proposed to her. So much Moe.

(I am assuming that was filler, having not read the manga yet (I plan to but have too much to read/watch, being the "new generation" myself), because it seems like filler to my anime-senses)

In any case, this looks to be awesome. If it as awesome as I think it will be, it'll be really really ridiculously awesome.

This is wonderful news! I was a really big fan of the original series (everything up to the end of the Shishio Makoto arc), so as long as the plot quality is similar to those arcs, I will be definitely checking this out. Thanks for the heads up! I wonder if they will preserve the lighter tone / feel of the original tv series, or get into the much more darker feel of the OVAs...

You meant the ring, that Kenshin Fished out from a fish. Yeah that's a filler, Manga didn't have it.
