Saki: Episode of Side A (Airing in Spring 2012)

The good news: Moe girls playing mahjong are back!

The bad news: This is a spin-off and not the second season of the original Saki anime. (Which is why, after some consideration, I decided to start a new topic, rather than update the original. Sorry.)

After looking through the official anime website, "Saki: Episode of Side A" focuses on a group of new heroines, and of course, their journey to win the national tournament. However, for fans of Saki and Nodoka, fret not! I suspect both characters will make an appearance, at least hinted in the promotional video, albeit looking slightly younger. ^_^;;

Interesting I can't wait to see why they decided to make this instead of making a new season

I was really hoping they would keep their old style but it seems they're only going to focus on story and not the Mahjong gameplay
