Solanin, by Inio Asano, is an absolutely heartwarming oneshot seinen manga about a young woman and her life in the real world. It gives off a bit of a Nana/Beck vibe, but its U.S. release is just one volume, making it a MUCH quicker read than either of the aforementioned series. A live action adaptation is in the works, set for release sometime in April. (fun fact: Solanine is a naturally occuring poison... kind of interesting to know if you plan on reading this manga)
I love Inio Asano's manga.
Solanin was the first one I had ever read of his, and ever since then I've been a big fan.
I'm into his latest manga, Oyasumi Punpun. Ingenious.
But sometimes I wonder what he was on when he created it...
