Well, nothing's new so it seems. I feel like flooding this section but then again, I tend to forget that I'm quite lazy for that. In any case, my love for anime is eternal and I'd love to see this section to keep on growing... I believe that it was divine providence (or retardation, I think) which led me here, at this very place, to make some good.
I haven't been keeping count of my threads but this should be around my 30th or so I think... So without further nonsense ado...
Plot Summary: Set in an alternate history of Japan, freelance photographer Minagami Hayato returns to his hometown of Ootomo to investigate rumors of a man wearing a skull mask committing murders there. Once in the city, he discovers connections between the victims and a local pharmaceutical company, a new religious sect, and strange half human, half animal creatures. Along with a young photographer, he decides to find out who the Skull Man really is.
As usual, here's the OP/ED themes:
(I can't find the actual ED clip)
-Fuckin awesome, in a sense it was-
(Heh, I even managed to dig up its trailer)
My thoughts:
It was a good 13-episode mystery-themed series. Nothing spectacular, but something worthwhile, esp if you're into old-school "masked-heroes" and stuff. I've seen it for about more than a year ago so I'm trying to refresh my memory a little here. The plot is more simplistic than it is complicated thus it's pretty easy to follow. The animation is nowhere near stunning but decent. BONES did the adaptation (so just you know), and with that said, expect nothing less of its quality. Just try not to get misled though, as the title is indeed "The Skull Man", the series isn't exactly "all that" centered around him. The thing that I particularly liked about it was the near-end twist and the epilogue; instead of a closure, it signified a beginning...
Best give it a shot if you've got nothing better to watch.
