I'm posing a broad spectrum question for you the user's of Fakku. Do you enjoy the at times painstaking mind numbing drudgery of trying to find a specific volume of an manga or DVD of an anime?
I try to support Local chops as much as possible, and resort to the internet for finding thing's only when my labor's prove fruitless. But there is something about it, I always feel more rewarded in the end, when I find said volume after searching for it. Even if you don't find what you are looking for chances are you will find something that will pique your interest
So how about you do you enjoy it?

I do not. Mostly because there is only two places where I need to go if I want to find something IRL. If they don't have or can't order it from somewhere for me the only place to go is the internet.
And even if I'd had a wider spectra of places to check in my search of manga/anime I would probably hate it.

Well even just window shopping for anime or anything youre into can be fun. But since I lack time, I prefer spending it consuming the stuff

Men probably gets it more than women. It's the genes.
Many men take joy in hunting down anything and bring it back, regardless of what condition it may be in, so as long as it can be used.
Many women tend to enjoy searching for good deals or looking through a pile of stuff for good items, and will become happy when said good deal or item is found.

Anime isn't sold in Holland anywhere, actually and I don't feel like importing everything.
Hence I gladly download.

I don't quite think that's completely true but it is majority wise. I seriously think humans do enjoy the thrill of hunting for something when a certain trigger is clicked on in them. That trigger of course is probably different for every single individual.

Yeah, I also download, but for different reasons. In Vancouver it's easy to find a store that sells anime, sometimes even as original imports, but they're freakin' expensive, and I'm on a student's budget...
Oh, and lelouch20, I did meant the thrill of hunting for anything, not just for food. Women liking shopping also had to do with what their ancestors did. Women waaay back used to forage for food, like berries and whatnot. They usually go en-mass and with children in tow. They look for berries/fruits that had the right colour, and teach the kids how to find it. When they weren't doing that, they were busy telling their man what to do next XD.

Well, sort of. Whenever I buy a manga, I'll check for the one with the best condition. It usually takes five minutes for me to decide. Unfortunately because of this, I haven't been able to buy the 6th volume of Black God/KuroKami because it's in such poor condition. I have the 7th... but I can't read it... I really need that 6th book.
Also, since Yen Press took Yotsuba, I keep seeing those nice, clean and sleek covers. ADV had paper covers and I don't know if I should buy the new cool ones.

I know how it can be wanting the best you can find, I always grab from the back of the stack when I grab a magazine when I buy it. Manga I'm the same way unless I know I can't find it elsewhere. *Cough*GTO*cough* I'll buy used if I have to over New.

No, I hate the "hunt." It fucking sucks. At least when you're actually hunting something.
Example: The Drifting Classroom by Kazuo Umezu. A few months ago, I hit every place around here that carries manga, looking for any volume of the series. I came up with absolutely nothing. Now, Drifting Classroom isn't the most popular series, but it is often cited as the best horror manga series. I should be able to fucking find it in a Barnes and Noble!
Even the popular series can be elusive. For the past couple of years, I've searched for volumes 3 and 4 of the Azumanga Daioh manga. I own the first two and don't want to buy the large collection of all four volumes. I've only found them one time, and that was when I didn't have any money. I've found the first two volumes many, many times. That is ridiculously annoying. Another series that does this to me is Genshiken - god, why are there never any volumes of Genshiken in stores? It's not just that they don't have volume 5 and up; they never have a single volume!
One really great thing about downloading manga (though I also love buying it): You can easily get the entire series. I have a few series I'll never complete unless I buy the volumes online, I know.
