I just found this manga recently, and I was pleasantly surprised. First, here's the synopsis by onemanga.com
Summary
In the world where the taste and texture of food are very important there is Toriko a hunter of precious foods regularly hired by restaurants and the rich , a man with inhuman skills to capture the ferocious, evasive and rare animals to complete his ultimate dinner course and then his current accomplice a weak timid person who was inspired by toriko's greatness and accompanies him on all his journeys on his quest for the course of his life
This one would go under culinary combat comedy (CCC), and it's alot of fun. Toriko is one of those over-the-top action manga's that has a good mix of laughter and mayhem, not to mention, some really original and interesting creatures he has to fight. If you enjoy a manga that is pretty much about some guy beating up gigantic creatures to eat, this is the one for you.

I had found this awhile ago and have been meaning to read more of it. I stopped after the first thing he had caught.
I'm not really sure where the plot will be going or if it will even have one that's further than "catch blah blah and eat it".

Oh I've been reading this for some time now, and there does seem to be somewhat of a plot. There is an evil gourmet organization who opposes our heroes, and alot of very strong villains to fight aside from just monsters. Starting to get pretty interesting.

Dude i like this manga a lot and plus is based on food which really tends to get me hungry while reading it lol

i hate this manga not only it replace one of my favorite manga in jump but the story(after read till chpt 15) is suck not to mention how come he eat some kind of gigantic monster?

wow...this manga is great for me...since it has a lot of eating and fighting...+ some of the caracters are cool and funny...

Been rading it 4 awhile the plot is rather original and lately the fighting over rare food became almost hardcore

I started watching and have about 100 episodes to go, I'm more interested in the food and the ridiculous characters.

Toriko's really fun. It just has the perfect spirit of a 90s shounen series where it's all about being over the top and pure adventure. Not to say it's perfect or its the only series that does that currently but I finish pretty much every chapter feeling like I got something out of it and that's not something I can say about every series I like.
