There seems to be a lot of good anime coming up soon. Three that stand out to me are Cencoroll, Despera and Bakemonogatari. Cencoroll already has a couple of trailers out whereas Despera only has some magazine features; it's been said that it will be serialised in a certain manga magazine first but it's not that the anime is based on the manga; they're both just different ways of telling the story. Bakemonogatari starts in a week, I think.
Cencoroll
Spoiler:
Cencoroll is based on an award-winning manga by Atsuya Uki. Here's one of the trailers.
There doesn't seem to be much info on it, at least going off Wikipedia and the discussions on /a/.
Despera
Spoiler:
Despera is directed by Ryutaro Nakamura, with screenplay by Chiaki J. Konaka and character design by Yoshitoshi ABe. These three last worked together on Serial Experiments Lain and have also created, either in pairs or individually, Haibane Renmei, Texhnolyze, RahXephon, Astro Boy (2003), Hellsing, Ghost Hound, The Big O, Armitage III and Sakura Wars (just to name some examples) as well as creating certain episodes for series such as Ghost in the Shell: SAC and Kino's Journey. That's a pretty amazing resumé (especially considering that's the minority of what they've done) so Despera should be pretty fucking amazing.
Taken from Wiki: The story centers around a 14 year old girl named Ain, who often builds devices despite the lack of scientific background for them. The sci-fi alternative period story is set in Tokyo during the TaishÅ era in 1922, one year before the 1923 Great KantÅ earthquake.
Bakemonogatari, or Ghostory in English.
Spoiler:
Taken from Wiki: Bakemonogatari centers on Koyomi Araragi, a third year high school student who is almost human again after briefly becoming a vampire. One day, a classmate named Hitagi SenjÅgahara, who infamously never talks to anyone, falls down the stairs into Koyomi's arms. He discovers that Hitagi weighs next to nothing, in defiance of physics. After being threatened by her, Koyomi offers her help, and introduces her to Meme Oshino, a middle-aged homeless man who helped him stop being a vampire.
This taken from a current thread on 4chan:
Based on a light novel series by NisiOisin who has a knack for writing parody laden metahumor.
Hiroshi Kamiya (Itoshiki-sensei of SZS, Natsume of Natsume Yuujinchou, Inugami and Lord Cat of PPD)
Chiwa Saito (Becky of PPD, Anita King of Read or Die, Aika of Aria)
Miyuki Sawashiro (Shinku of Rozen Maiden, Serizawa of PPD, Shinkuro of Kure-nai)
Yui Horie (Hanyuu of Higurashi, Miyako of PPD, Maria of Umineko no naku koro ni)
Kana Hanazawa (Potemayo of Potemayo, Sora of Sketchbook full color'S)
Emiri Katou (Kagami of Lucky Star)
Takahiro Sakurai (Suzaku of Code Geass, Faldio of Valkyria Chronicles)
Begins next week.
One thing I'm looking forward to is that one of the characters is a spats-wearing psycho, paedo, lesbian, stalker tomboy.
For more info on it (since it starts soon, it's the show with most info out of these three) just pop over to the Wikipedia page.
So what about you guys? What series are you looking forward to? Oh, I also heard there's a second series of Ouran but it seems to be just a rumour.
Spice & Wolf season 2. That's about it really, because I haven't bothered checking up on what is coming out for the summer. The fall and winter anime releases are usually better in my opinion and there are a few things I am hoping for.
I know, it's not exactly similar in a sense, it's just that there's already a much better thread that was created not so long ago.
Heck, I even posted an update just a couple of days back. Either way, I'm not implying that this thread be locked immediately or anything (don't care much about those things anymore) but just to serve as a reference, here's the link to the thread I was talking about.

Btw, if I'm not mistaken, Cencoroll and Despera are both animated films. I doubt we'll be able to watch those anytime soon, unless of course we fly to Japan and watch them at the theaters there. Even so, understanding Japanese dialect also needs to be taken into consideration. (which probably wouldn't be an issue to you, Teclo)
Anyway, if there's any movie that really interests me in this upcoming summer season, it has got to be SUMMER WARS.
PS: Bakemonogatari (which is one of the series that I'm looking forward to this season) will indeed start airing next week, at exactly my birthday (July 3). I'll very much appreciate it if you can send me just a humble greeting. :)
I did do a quick search for "upcoming anime" but nothing relevant came up. To be honest, this was more of an ad for the shows I'm looking forward to (since they're not the typical moe crap, I felt it'd be nice to give them a bit more attention) and I thought it'd be nice for others to recommend some stuff back.
I think Cencoroll is either an OVA or movie, going off the quality of it. Despera sounds like it's either a series or OVA. These guys seem to make TV series rather than movies - things like Lain, Haibane Renmei and Texhnolyze.
I just made a quick search on Despera and from what I've gathered, It's just pretty much in the works, more of like in its development stage. Even an official announcement regarding the project has yet to be made.

Lain's Yoshitoshi ABe Confirms New Work is Despera

In a Thursday blog entry, manga creator and character designer Yoshitoshi ABe (Serial Experiments Lain, Haibane Renmei) confirmed reports from last month's Sakura-Con 2009 event that he is developing a new anime with many of the staffers of the Lain anime, but made a clarification on the title. The correct title for the project is Despera (ã§ã™ãºã‚‰), which is derived from the shortened version of the term "desperado." He acknowledged that he was speaking fast at the event in Seattle, so his words may have come across jumbled. He also confirmed, to his knowledge, that the official announcement on the project will be coming soon.

Lain's Head Writer, Director Join ABe on Despera

Chiaki J. Konaka, the series script supervisor of Serial Experiments Lain, Texhnolyze, and Hellsing, has revealed on Friday that he is collaborating with manga creator/character designer Yoshitoshi ABe and director Ryutaro Nakamura on their new project called Despera. The last time that all three artists had worked together was on the Lain anime series. ABe had revealed the project's existence at Washington state's Sakura-Con 2009 convention in April.
The official announcement and introduction for the project will be made in the July issue of Tokuma Shoten's Animage magazine on Wednesday. (Animage will celebrate its 31st anniversary in that issue.) A graphic novel version will begin a one-year serialized run in the following issue on July 10. Konaka adds that there will also be a "follow-up project" on Animage's website that will be detailed later.
With that, I doubt that we can expect this series any time soon, at least not this year, I think. Though it definitely caught my interest, I'd rather set my sights on what's ahead at the moment.
Also, with regards to "advertising/recommending" certain anime series/titles, I do that at the specific anime section. God knows how many threads I've already created for just this upcoming summer season alone. (8 I think)
Before I forget, likewise according to ANN, Cencoroll is a movie.

Same here, and i waiting for Zero no Tsukaima season 4.,

OMFG season 2 for spice and wolf and season 4 for zero no tsukaima. first time i heard of it O.O. well im definitely going to watch those ^^
Despera is being serialised in Animage starting next month and should run for a year (sounds like a lot but that's only 12 chapters...) Maybe the anime will come out after that, but I think it'd be nice if they ran alongside each other and looked at different aspects of the story.
I just had a sudden urge and actually ended up subscribing to Animage - for the price of each issue I could nearly get a 6 month subscription to Retro Gamer. Despera had better be fucking good!
I'm looking forward to Canaan, a type moon production.
Well sort of. Nasu wrote a scenario for a game and then PA Works made an anime based on that scenario. It does seem good, though. I don't really follow voice actors, or base what shows I watch on them, but this has Maaya Sakamoto and she's voiced some of my favourite female characters like Lark (there are like a million ways to spell that) from Diebuster and Haruhi Fujioka from Ouran High School Host Club. Also Rie Tanaka who did Suigintou from Rozen Maiden.
Though I'm wondering, is that Canaan character with a red top a man or woman?
I'm looking forward to spice and wolf II
and Shakugan no shana III
Life is kinda getting boring when almost most of the good on-air in japan animes were finished, So this would be something I would be looking forward to
New characters
New story line (Or Continuation)
And New complications
