What if...

I was having this odd train of thought as I was trying to go back to sleep this morning, so I decided to present this scenario to you as well. I was wondering what I would do if I were to suddenly go deaf and how it would affect my ability to enjoy anime and manga.

I imagine that if I were deaf, I would not bother much for watching anime, as the sounds and music really do make a series, in my opinion. I would probably stick strictly the manga, but it would be a sad day indeed.

How about you? What would you do in this scenario, or, what would you do if another one of your senses went out, and how would it affect your anime/manga habits?

Hell, I would also choose to be mute. If I lost my sense of hearing, I wouldn't be able to enjoy music or television at all. Subtitles for the hearing impaired aren't to bad but sometimes they don't make sense or are delayed. If ya make me a mute, I'll have an excuse to carry around a dry-erase board with me at all times and use it to communicate. I'd use emoticons and l33t speak like there's no tomorrow.

If I go deaf, I'd probably try to kill myself. Not just coz I can't watch anime properly, but also because I kinda need my ears for my job, you know? A deaf musician doesn't do much good, unless you're badass like Beethoven.
