ye know, i've always wondered how they make animations for anime and such. Considering in one scene theres fuckloads of movements and such, plus an average of 24 minutes for an anime episode, theres gonna be hundreds or even thousands of pictures drawn.
Its not like they draw each and every single movement individually, that takes too much work. They use computer softwares to do it too, and most of the times, background is one picture. If you see some rotating background, you know its hard work shit.
take this video for example
The first scene where archer chant, the only section of the picture moving is his mouth (a loop of 2-3 pictures). So the artist just have to draw his picture, and copy it into another paper then change only the mouth. This scene is created with a larger picture and the camera moving from down to up.
The second scene where archer images have more pictures then the first obviously, the scene in this minute with the most drawn pictures in flipping, the background doesnt change.
The 3rd scene when beserker comes infront of archer, notice only beserker's hair ( loop of few pictures) and the white "wave" like stuff coming out of cadalbolg is moving.
So is the 4th scene, beserkers skirts moving too( also a loop of few pictures).
5th scene is, just wave like thinggy moving and archer's hand release, his hair not even moving(awesome gel?) nor his eyes and his mouth.
6th is where the arrow flyes...meh...
7th is where beserker comes flying with his hair moving (loop) and face not changing. A second picture of beserker with the "ouch" look on his face is shown when he is hit by the arrow. And smokes come out.
8th is where the whole background is the same with added effects of waves and that pillar of light moving.
9th is where archer's mouth moving only again, his hands didnt even move an inch when the weapons appear.
And there you have it, one whole minute
Actually you can watch and see each and every scene and analyse the pictures "drawn", the ones in loop and the ones drawn and not moving, and the ones with the camera moving. But yeah, thats just like 1 minute i said, so a 24 minute episode is like 24 times the work of that, still is a shitload of stuff
And yeah, higher quality animes tend to have more pictures and movements in one scene to make it look awesome, so it depends on their budget and deadline i guess
