And it doesn't even sound like a proper ending to the anime either, damn. That probably won't stop me from checking it out though.

My theory, as well as other fans', is that they've been getting a lot of bullshit from fans, especially desperate American asshole fans who can't stand living without Inuyasha after the manga ended. So they decided to animate some random material as a type of informal market test. The theory I've come to is that if they get a good enough reception from the public, not just through the "Its a Rumic World" exhibit, but through pirating and shit like that, it will probably influence them to push Takahashi-sensei to give them the green light to start producing OVAs to finish the series, since that's what Sunrise has wanted to do since the series ended.
See, my logic even functions pretty well under the influence of a lot of alcohol. Looking at my bottle of tequila, apparently more than I realized... :lol: .

It's really a shame that there was only one OVA, at least to my knowledge. I'm hoping they'll continue the anime soon and just follow the manga.
