Why all the Moe hate?

A lot of western anime fans I have talked to have told me that they hate "Moe" series like K-on, Lucky Star, Azumanga Daioh, and Yotsuba&!. I mean really hate them. Like "Grab your torch and pitchfork" kind of hate. My only question is why. There is nothing inherently bad about them. So why all the hate? Can anyone shed some light on this?

I do hate K-on.. it not the moe, it's yui voice and plot. Kawaii is fine desu~ in moderation.

Lucky star wasn't good but it had it points. I liked azumanga and yotsuba& the manga.. is there a anime of it?

I dunno. They just can't handle the HNNNNNNNNNNG's.

Moe is good. I personally like it. But one thing I hate from K-On is its plot and storyline. To me, what's the point of watching teenage girls stuffing themselves with sweets and and other non-sense? Also, the lack of male protag there also influence my dislike on K-On.

There's nothing wrong with moe. I'm totally fine with it. The problems I have with those animes are the plots. Or rather, their lack of plot. And the OPs. All the ones for K-On were really annoying (EDs were much better), same for Lucky Star.

I love moe, I'm going through the entire Hidamari Sketch series right now, it's just not all studios know how to use it right.

I will admit K-on doesn't have much of a continuing plot. The point of watching it is that it's fucking adorable. Also I like an all-female cast. It gets rid of the potential crappy romance sub-plot

Well, I'd rather watch cat or puppy videos if I only seek the 'adorable' part.

I rather play with my puppy or the two loli's in their room, then watch yui twat and ritsu cunt play j-popniggatry anymore.


But since im freak.. i rather play with my ginsu sliced penis and rub lime juice and battery acid then watch the abortion of K-on. Also can add more anime too but meh.

I'm pretty sure these "Moe-Haters" can agree that it's not the Moe-ness but the "Plot", or the lack of, and to some degree some of the voice acting you know? I mean personally as the viewer why the hell should I care about what they do, or how they do it, especially since their is no plot and they're just talking about nothing, cracking bad jokes, and making awful puns. and about the "HHNGGG"-ness, or the adorableness, I'd rather just play with my cats for that.

On a personal note, since everybody else is doing it, the thing about K-On! with me was that I thought the first season was "meh", but in the second season it seems that Ritsu's and Yui's IQ dropped about 50% or something and the series just became annoying to me. Also as a guitar dork it kinda irked me when Yui chose the Gibson Les Paul on account that she thought it was "Cute".

HAHA, I think the thing that made it worse is the fact that that specific Les Paul is worth roughly about $2,000+, and SHE GOT IT. Imagine that, someone who doesn't know jack-lickitty-shit about playing guitar and she gets a $2,000+ guitar...

See to me that's the issue. To me there is no point in watching something that doesn't have much of a plot, if any. I will admit I did watch K-On! and I didn't hate it completely, or at least not the first season. point is that I just don't find the significance in watching something that doesn't go anywhere. I think it's actually sad that people like certain shows based on how "kawai-desuDERP" or HNGGGGGG or what ever the hell the reason is, its like liking a certain artists music because "the singer is hot" or something along that stupidity... but whatever, it's my opinion.

True that. As a guitar collector myself, I feel a part of me died when that motherfuckingsonnovabitch treat that precious guitar like it was some cute doll she found in a dollhouse. I remember all my effort to actually got one of the same guitar, and that made me pissed off.

It's honestly not just the pure moe, but the story and plot line.
Watching K-ON is like drinking a soda, It's tasty an all, but you know it's not healthy.
Most people hate the overrated popularity. You rarely see no one hating Azumanga Daioh or Yotsubato because both works are not overrated.

and seriously, the males. You don't need them for plot romance, but with males it can make an even funnier situation. Just look at Nichijou and Danshi Kokousei, they can still give a good laugh with both genders present.
