Story: The year is T.C. 4767. Four thousand years have passed since humanity abandoned its birthplace, the planet Earth. Beset by the hostile alien Gnosis, mankind is now scrambling to find ways to defeat this threat to their existence. The development of KOS-MOS (a specialized android with amazing capabilities) by Vector engineer Shion Uzuki was one response to the threat. But when their ship is destroyed by the Gnosis, Shion and her companions find themselves thrust into the middle of a battle with no clear sides...
Opening
To start things of, I didn't see this in teh masterlist and felt like making this. First off, mmm KOS-MOS. :D
But one thing I did not like about the anime and a major difference from the game, is that they cut out Cherenkov. I mean literally. He had an awesome past in the game once you learned about it. Another difference is that they prolonged Lt. Virgil in the anime.
It was so obvious what was gonna happen, I just don't know why they kept him alive for so long.
Cherenkov > Lt. Virgil.
Yea, Kos-mos is awesome. And look at that cover, damn Shion, look where your putting your hands! lol. Anyway, having played the trilogy on the ps2, I guess I might as well check out the anime.
I had this on my computer for years, transferring it to new HDDs as I got them. Until about three weeks ago when my 320 crashed and lost everything. I've been looking to get a hold of it again. Loved the games, and the anime was a pretty decent add-on to it. Though I was kinda annoyed by a few things too. (mostly the same thing with Virgil.)
I saw the boxset of this for cheap, so I bought it spontaneously some time ago. In addition to the lack of Cherenkov, another complaint is that they didn't make Albedo crazy enough. His character became too much of a sympathetic villain. The anime does a good job of preserving the original designs, but the actual animation isn't that great. It's enjoyable though and provides a pretty decent alternative to the game, unlike other game adaptations.
Years back, when Xenosaga was first made, I went, "OH yay! A sequel to Xenogears!"
Sadly this was not the case...wah!
Seriously,
Xenosaga was great and all, no disrespect or anything, but they REALLY should have made an anime based off of Xenogears...that would have been epic.
