A question about conventions in the US

Hello everyone,
For the first time in my life im going to the US and i told myself i just had to go to an anime convention there,to feel what its like,since its like 20 times more people and merchandise and veriaty in merchendise then from here. So i wanted to ask if there are any conventions in the US between the 12-23 of october,which are the dates i will be staying in the US. I need to know as fast as possible so i can plan the course with my family. If there happens to be a few conventions within these dates,please tell me which one is the most preferred...

I don't think there is anything MASSIVE happening during that time frame unless you want to count the New York Comic-con as an anime convention - I wouldn't. However, there are a bunch of smaller conventions happening all the time around the nation. Hopefully you'll find one near wherever it is you are staying.

Well, NYC Comic-con now includes what used to be NY Anime Fest. You just get admission to both.
