So i decided to cosplay MC from Persona 3, and i am confused with how to prepare the gun.
I have this

I have this

And i printed this out

So, how do i make them into this
http://media.gamespy.com/columns/image/article/108/1081824/loss-of-death-suicide-in-videogames-20100405003147729.jpg
I heard that drying the paint can take a long time and stuff, so i really don't know what to do
do i
1:cut&paste the printed out gun onto my real gun, then paint?
2:Paint 1st, then cut&paste
or is there a better way to do this?
My event's in 24th June, and nows the 9th, so there still is time.
I don't want to fuck this up, cos the gun model is...relatively expensive.
Thanks in advance fakkers. +rep to whoever helps =)
I have no experience modding stuff like that, but you might want to look into this tutorial? It's easy to follow, plus all the materials can be easily found at a craft store. I hope this helpful. u___u Good luck!
ok with spray paints the finish vaies greatly varies with each manufacturer, i would suggest reading the can to see wat the best way to use it is, also an undercoat MAY be needed
personally i would say yes with teh type you have but thats just me
for the pattern, personally i would get a pencil and sketch teh pattern on then with a fine brush and black paint go over it
if you do follow this advice jus remember, i do not do this often enough to be considered anywhere near experienced i jus have a basic knowledge on spraying thats all
If you don't want to paint your gun directly, I suggest covering it with papier mache first, then sanding, then doing the paint. That way, if you mess up the paint, you can just crack and peel the papier mache and do it over.
OP this is essentially like painting model jets.
Strip the gun down, sand down the "Made in China" markings, prime it with your choice of primer paint. Spray your base silver coat then mask out the parts so you can paint your details in.
For smaller details I suggest using a paint brush or get those Gundam detailing pens.
The main thing is you need to be patient, work methodically and not rush otherwise you'll end up with an obviously rushed job. I'd suggest a final thin clear coat to protect against wear when you're done.
