Cosplay Suggestions Wanted

I like to crochet (kind of like knitting) all of my costumes, and even some of my everyday clothes. Last year, I cosplayed at Anime Boston as Kuukaku Shiba from Bleach.
This year, I want to really challenge myself. I want to cosplay as a character who wears complicated/intricate clothes. Ah, but there is a problem with that- I don't know who.
I'm looking for an anime (or video game) character that matches that discription. I'm asking this early because I want to watch the anime first and have time to make the costume.
I have waist-length dark brown hair, larger than average breasts and pretty average build, if that helps.

Mikuru's a great character (Especially her behaviour's gotta be a pain to imitate, I guess.) but a regular school uniform isn't all that challenging.
And pretty much every character I could think of that fits into the description probably burst the possibilities of homemade cloth altering. Mind providing some information on that matter?

Long hairs aint a problem. You can always wear a net and have a wig or just cut it. xD
You wanna challenge urself eh? Perhaps try... hmm... Kureha from Shining Wind? You got the hair and all too and the costume is kinna challenging to do. On top of that, u can try to make the bow as ur prop. =)

Ohhh, I like Kureha a lot more than Mikuru, even though I love Haruhi hentai more than is healthy.
