I'm going to Anime Boston in April and want to do at least two cosplays. I'm already planning on doing Liz Thompson from Soul Eater for my inexpensive easy one, but want a challenge for my second >:) any and all suggestions are welcomed and appreciated!

It's a pretty decent show, so I would suggest watching it even if you didn't want to cosplay as her.

Bridget from Guilty Gear comes to mind. But, that could(?) be a bit on the complex side.

If you are going for challenging and blonde, try to do Saber from FSN.
Or you could do "Nino" from Arakawa Under the Bridge. She dresses plainly, but it is going to be a challenge to get the subtle looks that define her. Your hair straightened would be perfect.

You could try doing Mariya from Maria holic. He would be your first crossdress XD

Also, don't worry about not knowing the show. As long as you study a bit on the character you'd be able to do a cosplay. I agree it's better to pick a character you are already familiar with, but it's not necessary.
And it's always better to pick a cosplay that fits you a hella lot then to take a cosplay that doesn't.
