Well, I attended Metrocon this weekend. And spent about $200 T^T. But that's besides the point. I have to say, it was FANTASTIC. Amazing cosplayers, notable ones were a Celty cosplayer (Durarara!!) and a C.C. cosplayer (Code Geass). There were tons and tons of people. I ordered a commission as well from one of the artist's in Artist's Alley. I thought her art was fantastic. I requested a Revy commission (Black Lagoon). Here is her DA account: http://minxies.deviantart.com/
The Vendor's Room was amazing. There was a huge amount of stuff. Katanas, figurines, posters, shirts, doujin, keychains, toys, leather and leather accessories (handcuffs anyone?). Tons and tons of manga and anime at half price. My friend and I also attended the concert of Japanese anime song singer Takayoshi Tanimoto. He sings the opening and ending songs to Dragonball Z Kai I believe. Hit up a few panels and got a few autographs. I don't watch any dubbed animes, but my friend is obsessed with Durarara!! so I bought her a T-Shirt and Poster, both with Izaya and Shizuo on them, and we had Crispin Freeman sign them. Scott McNeil was there too, so I had him sign an old poster of Koga I had just for that moment. InuYasha was one of the only animes I've watched dubbed xD
So I left with 2 Code Geass posters, a Fairy Tail wall scroll, a Touhou yuri fanart book, and a free yuri mousepad xD. I have to admit, I was stunned at how much yuri there was. Don't get me wrong, I'm a "yuri-ist" lol, but there was absolutely no yaoi and it surprised me. There were a few Junjou Romantica posters, but absolutely no doujins or fanart. Just a lot of Touhou yuri and such. I actually wanted the larger doujin, but I couldn't afford it. I also wanted a Spice and Wolf body pillow with a seductive (and naked) Holo on it. Unfortunately I couldn't afford it.
Overall, it was an amazing experience =) Luckily, Florida has tons of anime conventions throughout the year, so I'll update ya when I go to another one =D
