Advice column

define advice. I mean we already have specific sections, and mainly people only ask for relationship or technological advice, which goes in their preexisting sections of the forum.

a general advice section might be useful, but it might warrant its own thread rather than a section

The Stickies in each forum sections can be used to give others advice.

Edit: Reading your previous thread, I'm guessing by advice, you mean getting advice from others for your own benefit and knowledge.
Not advice to not break the rules in the forum.

I think this is a good idea.
If the forum section is made, I vote Kaimax or Tegumi to be the moderator of that forum section.

I don't know if I'm keen on this idea but, shouldn't it be a sub section of Request? TheDarkStarAlchemist would have jurisdiction over it. Kinda like how Waars with Chat Topics and Forum Games.

Still, I think the likelihood of this actually happening is pretty low. You can ask for advice in pretty much any section so I'm wondering if a sub-section just for advice would be necessary. Hint: The answer begins with "n."

This sums up my argument, therefore I see no need to create an Advice forum.

If enough people want it I will create it, but I think advice topics work fine in Random/Incoherent Babbling.

Making a dedicated advice section is just going to lure in more helpful idiots who want to give advice, but know nothing about the topic at hand. This is a bad enough problem in topic-specific areas where mods already have to intervene for quality control.

unless there is huge outcry for the need of the section this isn't going to happen. This matter should be resolved unless you gus want to make a poll or something to see how many want it.

Nah, I think maybe a general advice thread would be the most needed. And anyone can start that if they want to already. No need to create a specific forum for it when there is already plenty of ones that work just fine.
