wow, well this sucks.
i mean, i totally understand the reasoning behind it and i fully support it, but i just can't afford to pay $12.95 a month for pornography aha. that money's enough to spend on things that'd be more valuable to me in life, i've never understood paying for pornographic content in any capacity when so much of it is out there for free.
yes, the creators need to make their money, and there are people out there willing to pay so my decision to not pay isn't exactly going to effect it, but this was the site i'd always come to for doujins, guess that's not the case anymore.
i'll stick around on the forums because it's a generally interesting place to be and i'll keep an eye on pricing and the options that come available, but $12.95 is asking too much.

I Only wish that they can have an Add function to view Books and Subscriber stuff and the subscription can be to remove the adds and such works well but most people still wont like it but i still choose Fakku over any other site but even if i have to view 1000's of adds to support them i would

The problem is it isn't just porn. It's been addressed several times, but these are comics. Yes, manga with a sexual nature, but manga just the same. They cost they same to produce as any other manga series you may buy, and therefore we have to go through the same fees and contracts that a company like Viz might go through in order to bring this content legally here. The biggest problem though is these comics have a very niche audience, (and some companies refuse to work with us because of their adult content) so because of that they cost a bit more to produce. Unfortunately we are not a huge company like Viz, we're only a small independent publisher, so we need whatever support our readers can give us.
We understand that some people just can not afford the current price, or our genre options are lacking for their personal tastes, but for those people we plan on adding some free content and expanding our selection, so please stick with us.

You simply don't have enough content to keep people here.If you had managed to secure contracts to get more content here before the release, at least double what you've got now, I suspect you could have made it. I would love to give you guys money, but... at the same time, the content I like doesn't get published a lot. That I and I fucking detest NTR which seems to have a new article every few days or so...
Off-topic. I would love to give you guys money, but the content you've currently got just isn't for me. The only tag I see published now days I'm interested with any frequency is tsundere, but that's also often tagged with NTR...
I just can't justify a subscription for stuff I don't like or hate. The lack of non-credit card options is also an issue. I don't do credit cards anymore since my card was stolen and saddled me with massive CC debt.
This place has been good to me, and I want to see it thrive, but I just don't foresee it happening. Too many people are just going to go to some other free site, regardless of the horrible UI and search functions, because it's free. Most people don't want to spend what little money they've got on hentai. Especially as lots of people don't even want to leave a paper trail. Sure, they've got one just for visiting the site, but an actual receipt of sale? That's more real and terrifying to them than internet history.
I'm going to stick around and lurk for a long time. I'll keep watch and see what happens, but I think this ship plotted it's course directly into a cliff side.
I am totally with you on this, Fakku was my source of love for many years but what came to pass was a huge disappointment. IF they can't even make anonymous payments without it being actually seen on our receipts and has to be cheap otherwise we wouldn't afford it. Just imagining this happening to manga and anime is terrifying enough. Truthfully manga and anime wouldn't survive today if you had to pay to watch or read them. Ofcourse they neeed money but also they need a huge fan franshise and for every person that watches, 10 more people get informed and maybe out of those 10, 1 or 2 buy manga, anime, figures, posters etc. Watching and reading for free is the greatest advertisment the creators could have but unfortuntly not allot of people see that.
In conclusion, I am really disappointed in fakku now and saddened to say goodbye but as a good fan of fakku towards its past I will come every now and then to see what course this new ship is going to steer.

According to Netflix wikipedia, in July 2014, Netflix have about 50 million global subscribers, 226 Million net income in 2014 FY.
With this number of subscribers and net income they can decrease their sub price yet get profit but they don't because they want their company to continue grow up, they need enough fund.
So, what about Fakku, Do they get 0.01% subscribers of Netflix subscribers in July 2014? How can Fakku continue grow up without enough fund?

I agree with you on that point. Thats one of the reasons behind my post. I think it is unfair to compare a porn sub to subs like netfilx. I just said what I said because I saw other people making that comparison. Some people can get a kind of value out of porn subs, I'm just not that type of person.

You still have access to all that information. Go to your favorites or collection, click export in the top right corner. That will export a JSON file with the old content included. You can open the JSON file in a text editor or in a JSON Viewer extension in Chrome.

Society has placed this weird age limit on when we are "ready" to fuck, cause all these laws and idea's were put into place by sex phobic idiots. As for free stuff, just visit other sites like say e-hentai. Fakku will have free stuff again, but before they do, they first have to do all sorts of stuff that will make the Japanese companies happy with them.
Moral of the story, go have sex if you want, you're already old enough as it is. Just make sure to use protection ie (condoms)

I'm excited about all of this, Although I do miss some of the favorites I had that weren't Subs Hope that you guys will bring those back under the sub. Also do you plan to branch out into other stuff besides hentai? (or have you and i'm just not aware?).

I'm kinda on the fence on this issue.
I've already voiced my concern during the first appearance of the sub system.
The amount of content released that I'd actually be interested in is too low.
Most of the tags I was interested in were removed and/or only have sparse content.
I really do not agree with the point of "All I can see is the pirated scans from foreigners" either. The doujins atleast are usualy cons and stuff.
There is literally no market to get their stuff overseas.
There are artists I really want to support, but there is no way to do it.
I probably would never heard of them ever if it wasn't for scans.
Their work has reached an audience that wants more BECAUSE of scans.
Maybe a sub system for a limited amount of genres and that would cost less.
E.g Pick 3-5 Tags and get it for 4.99$ or something.
Untill Fakku starts getting its backlog up and geta back all of it's old tags I can't buy into it.
Because atm I might be interesting in maybe 1/10th of the content released per month.
I'd honestly prefer to see a shop per item model, kinda like DLsite.
Still wish you luck in the future.

its an issue I am against with. DLing is nice when we're offline, but also goes to the same issue as ease of pirating.
I, as a person who work hard for my stuff, wouldn't want people to leech of it. some people might want the ease of use with download, but I rather not give it the chance.
but hey, it's Jacobs call if he wants to promote it. he said he wants to support the authors... it's kinda backwards if he makes the content he publish easy for the piraters

doubt its gonna happen anytime soon. it's not feasible yet with progress.
currently right now, subs are using simulreleases of comic x-eros and kirakuten. what ever is released on those gets here. but what if the whole issue is just vanilla? people after non-vanilla stuff would be on the short end of the stick.
just imagine it as buying the magazine for now. you have to stick with what you are given.
at least that's how the japs keep their authors up, even if they don't even have real jobs.
widening the range of comics they publish can help that, but no guarantees. same goes for people after authors. they cant even backtrack to older issues just because of the workload that is in just those 2 comics, plus books. the backlog is big.
you can always shop the originals from japan as a sign of support. doujins are also available that way. there are thousands of ways to support. you just have to do it in the end, or not.

Overall, I agree with this decision. It must have been a difficult one to make, knowing that they would lose lots of users, but I believe it is the right thing to do. I've been a user on here for several years, and I will be sad to see some of the content go, but here's hoping lots of it can come back in the future!
Maybe Jacob and the other Fakku staff could look into becoming a publisher for ecchi and non-h works as well as a way for fakku to grow. Maybe look into it as a side project. Just a suggestion.
Unfortunately I am currently unable to afford the subscription price, but I think multiple subscription packages for various periods of time is a good idea. Perhaps they could shift their focus to the books more.
I'd like to see the site grow further, and while I am currently unsubscribed, I'll stick around for the future of the site and see where it goes. I'd like to support the site however I can, and currently, the best way for me would be to agree with and come to terms with this decision (or buy a book).
