I can't change my avatar

Now i can't get it to work. i hit the browse button, pick the one i want, then hit submit. instead of the resize page, it just goes back to profile, with the old avatar.

edit: i can get old ones to work, but not the new one i want.

edit2: i finally got to resize page, but when i try to submit resized, it says, "File uploaded is not recognized as an image." i'm pretty sure it is an image. i was just playing with it in MS paint a minute ago.
