Although vanilla is one of the most popular tags on this site, I've noticed that it is also one of the most loosely defined. There is a massive amount of content under this tag but not all of it is all that similar. Trying to find a specific kind of doujin under this tag can be a pretty daunting task. That's why I was wondering if maybe new tags could be introduced that would help to better divide this content into more easily navigable areas. In order to remain simple to identify as being romantic, the tags could remain as flavors or tastes. Here is a possible list of how this might work:
Bubblegum: just as it doesn't really have its own flavor, doujins that don't really build up any significant romance between characters and consists more of spontaneous sex would go here(seems to be a majority of what is now vanilla)
Chocolate:seeing as how it is bittersweet, this is where doujins that possess both an element of romance and sadness would go (ex: Homunculus: Girlfriend, Yukimi: Cherry Pink)
Cinnamon: having both a kick of spice and sweetness, this would be the best spot for all vanillas with a tsundere character
Vanilla: Being a pure flavor, this is where obviously romantic doujin would go
Obviously, more could be added to this list, but this is an example of the type of system that might be a little more navigable. This is something that I was considering for a little bit so feel free to say what you want. More than anything, I'm just interested in knowing what others think.
I've actually tried to discuss this at great length in the Helpers/Uploaders forum.
But no one seems to want to define it at this time, sadly. It's pretty frustrating.
Right now, even (somehow...) forced, incest, and anal are making the vanilla cut.
