Kemonomimi

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with the Kemonomimi tag. I love the tag because animalgirls are best girls, but I often come across stories where a human character just wears animal-ear accessories. I know, I'm being picky with porn.

I'm fully aware Kemonomimi in Japanese is a mash of two words so it literally just means "animal ears" without defining anything, so I can sorta see why it is being used as a general-use tag. But the lines are blurred a little too much I think.

Could we get a distinction between the two types?

Are you looking for more on monster girls? We do have a monster girl tag if that's what you mean. Z-ton's book is also in the works which will give you plenty of monster girls to choose from as well.

Not really. Sorry I was tired when I posted this so I guess I wasn't clear enough. When I said animalgirls I meant anthropomorphic animals; Catgirls, bunnygirls, doggirls and the like.

If Monster Girl+Kemonomimi is meant to provide some sort of distinction I'm okay with that. But a lot of them still aren't tagged with both if that's the case. Example

I like both equally, so it doesn't phase me too much. All animal ears are good, even if they are headbands.

Though, occasionally artists draw anthro characters with both human ears and animal ears, which is odd

We're walking a tightrope here. We want to have enough tags that people can generally find the content they're looking for, but we also really don't want to have too many tags.

You're right that legit ears-growin'-out-of-their-heads animal girls don't have a tag of their own and we get that people like you who are looking specifically for that content probably have to scroll selectively through the kemonomimi tag to find those girls.

I hope you can understand that compromises have to be made because we really can't please everybody!

We're definitely working on making tags better and more consistent, though, so we're for sure listening to feedback!

If it was kemonomimi and monster girls for anthro, that'd work. Though at the same time, I kinda feel like a catgirl doesn't count as a monstergirl, but dunno. Technically there is catgirl youkai

From what I can see at this point in time, any person with just animal ears (attached or not) just gets the kemonomimi tag, if there is more definition like anthro features it'd be labeled as monster girl. Our monster girl tag would get cluttered pretty quickly for just some ears and a tail and our goal is to not do that. Scrolling through the kemonomimi tag it's fairly easy to tell by the thumbnail image if the ears are gonna be attached or not, so if you are specifically looking for only attached ears, some sifting would be required, but not nearly as much sifting as it would in the monster girl tag with all the other various monster girls we have / will have.
