So I haven't posted one of these in a while, not since the summer of last year
https://www.fakku.net/forums/feedback-suggestions-and-support/missing-things-from-older-releases-summer-2020-edition. I thought about doing one in wintertime but I didn't really find any missing/incomplete stuff so I just put it off until now.
As with my previous posts, I'm trying to avoid fairly recent magazine releases that are still happening, although the boundaries on that are a little fuzzy so some of the things I mention here might just be in the pipeline. Nevertheless, here we go!
First lets start with Kairakuten. From the 2021-01 issue we have a pin-up by the cover artist, Fly. Maybe pin-ups aren't supposed to be included, but we see some Kairakuten pin-ups in other issues so it would be nice to see this one featuring the other cover girl not featured in the "Kairakuten Cover Girl's" page.
This brings us to 2021-03, where we DID get a release of the pin-up from Key
https://www.fakku.net/hentai/kairakuten-pin-up-2021-03-key-english. But the pin-up only include the full color art, not the sketch art. It would be nice to get both. For an example of what I mean by "sketch art" see
https://www.fakku.net/hentai/kairakuten-pin-up-2020-02-michiking-english, a prior pin-up from Michiking last year. (note that the 2021-01 pin-up I mentioned above also has both full color and sketch art in the Japanese release)
Finally, I see that the Kari-YUG page from 2021-03 (volume 20) is missing, as well as the futuregraph pages from 2021-05 and 2021-06. Maybe the futuregraph things are just in the pipeline (it's usually one of the last bits to get released from Kairakuten) but the Kari-YUG page seems really delayed since it's the only one missing from any release up to 2021-09, which just started dropping.
Now, on to X-Eros. There's not much to call out here, other than I think there might be a pin-up from Mutya in the Japanese releases (featuring more of the cover art). Maybe that's not meant to be included here (it's not a "normal" X-Eros pin-up) but given that it was considered normal enough to call out in the Japanese TOC (which isn't generally the case for ads or extra inserts) it does seem like it should be a normal release.
Next, Shitsurakuten. It looks like there's a "Shitsurakuten Cover Heroine" release from 2021-02 that was lost. However, I see that YQII posted on
https://www.fakku.net/hentai/shitsurakuten-cover-heroine-vol2-english that data for that is being waited on so I assume that's be along eventually.
And now we have Kairakuten BEAST. This might also just be treading into stuff that's in the pipeline, but I see that the BEAST Cover Artist Page from 2021-05 is still missing. Now that's often one of the last bits released, but I see that the 2021-06 page for that was already posted which makes me wonder if 2021-05 was missed and not just behind.
There's also some missing pin-up stuff again, similar to Kairakuten:
- the 2021-06 pin-up was never released at all
- the 2021-07 pin-up that was released only includes the full-color page and not the sketch page
Yet again for comparison see the pinup from 2021-05 at
https://www.fakku.net/hentai/beast-pinup-2021-05-kakao-english which included both pages.
Okay I know you're thinking "surely this must be done by now" but I'm afraid I found more stuff. Moving on to Bavel, here it gets a bit messier, and I'm probably stepping on some "we're not going to be doing that" stories here.
First, looking at 2021-06 there's one thing missing, a Triangle x Bavel special pin-up. Those have been missed before, because I think they technically fall into the "it's an ad" category, but FAKKU has managed to acquire and release those pages in the past so hopefully they can get this one.
Now, jumping all the way back to 2020-08, this one gets a bit more complicated. So there was a big special 5th aniversary insert, featuring an art page plus a Q&A page from 24 different Bavel artists. Normally this sort of thing is a "bonus insert artbook" type of thing that FAKKU doesn't release, but I added it to the list here because I saw that
https://www.fakku.net/hentai/siokonbu-art-book-collection-english from 2021-05 got released, which felt like a very similar type of insert. Now, maybe that particular artbook was a special case but I will note that the 2020-08 anniversary insert was included in Japanese electronic releases so it wasn't a physical-only special.
Another special thing Bavel has going on is that FAKKU has actually been releasing backlogged material from older issues. In particular, a while ago they went back and released most of the material from 2017-01 through 2017-05. However, there are some things that weren't released:
- 2017-02: After School by syou (book only)
- 2017-03: 4 page color story by Siokonbu
- 2017-03: 4 page color story by Derauea
- 2017-03: 1 page b&w Honomi Break art page (NOT 10, there was no Honomi Break in this issue)
- 2017-04: Their Warmth on a Cold Winter's Day by syou (book only)
- 2017-04: 4 page color story by Kanzaki Maguro
- 2017-04: 4 page color story by Harurun
- 2017-05: I'm a Fake Slut Who Tried to be a Cocktease by Kyockcho (book only)
- 2017-05: 6 page color story by Blue_Gk
- 2017-05: 4 page color story by Gegera Toshikazu
The Honomi Break stuff is presumably just in the pipeline, as FAKKU seems to be working their way forward from volume 1. I'm not sure what's happening with the three book only stories; back when the Bavel backlog work was announced I asked if those stories already released as part of books would be released under subscription I was told no, but then when I posted a suggestion to FAKKU support that they at least add the necessary metadata to link the book story pages to the magazines I was told that they were working on releasing them, so I'm not sure if there were wires crossed or if they just misunderstood what I was referring to. Perhaps all the little color shorts are also just in the pipeline, but since FAKKU has started on releasing 2016 backlog stuff I felt like I should add the 2017 backlog to the "is it happening?" pile.
Okay this is actually the end of the list now. The other magazines FAKKU is actively releasing (Aoha and Dascomi) aren't really missing anything. Well, I do see that Aoha is apparently not going to be including stories from one of the artists, which I hope is not going to become a trend, but that's a separate issue from the type of missing material I'm talking about in this post.
