For a looong time now, I've been bugging Jacob about a (java) web-based irc. It hasn't been tested yet XD

I want this just as much as the rest of you I just haven't had the time to test it out x_x but hopefully I will have time soon. Unfortunately I have an actual job now which takes up most of my day (don't get a real job) but hopefully we will see this soon.

What we aimed for isn't a basic chat window like that.

Personally, if we had something like the example you provided, I wouldn't go on it much, either. It doesn't have that genuine "live chat" feeling to it.
For ours, think mirc minus the download and extra fiddling people don't want to be bothered with.

IRC would be good. With chat you have to go to the website and if the website is down, well, no chat.

We use to have a shoutbox or whatever it's called dunno what happened to it lol. If theres people who uses Xfire/Skype/Vent/ we can get a FAKKU chann and chill etc rather then waiting for someone to post a response to your comment but I don't mind, everything's find for now.

I think a chat would seem pretty useless. Mainly because alot of spammers might spam the shit out of it, causing alot of complaints for more and more features to be added. Also I do see alot of pointless fights on public chats from trolls and kids. I do believe we don't want to have a chat with Newfags ruining it just for shits & giggles.
