Seeing who gives you rep invalidates the point of the system. Your rep is a reflection of what the community thinks of you, if you know that theres three people giving you rep all the time then it just makes you want to appeal to those people and get more rep from them. Likewise, if you know that there are one or two people killing your rep every day then you'll just hate them.
That pretty much sums up my stance on this issue. I think the system we have going works fine, where only admins are able to give or take more than one rep a day. Like blind_assassin said, it's a reflection of what the community thinks of you, so it loses it's value if you have to give a reason to rep or derep somebody, and I don't want there to be personal enmity because of this.
As for rep points, right now it is essentially useless (need a certain amount to upload flash games), but it helps us admins know who's respected in the community and who isn't. Also, we're coming up with ideas as to use the system better, such as ranks when you reach a certain amount of rep and so forth. I'll just need to sit down with the admins and the senior FAKKU members to think this out.
