We can no longer delete sent messages?

Just wondering since I can't find it on the sent messages, but can do so for inbox and saved ones. Is the feature ever going to come back?

Correct, you cannot delete a message once you've sent it to someone.

So is that feature gone forever or is it coming back later?

I think he meant the copy in the send folder not the actual message sent to the another person folder.
