Why is the search feature so useless?

I look up ".gif war" and what I get are topics such as;
Why is there even a search function if its that horribly off?
Hell, I decided to look up "Filipino Chat Box" just to see what comes up and I get topics such as;
...and yes I am aware the there are "Filipino Chat Box" threads but really, to get results that have nothing to do with the intended search obviously means something is wrong.

The search function looks for the words within the thread not necessarily the topic title or OP, Jacob said he would work on that.
So if you look up the words "dog" and "shit" any threads with the words dog and or shit in them would be displayed. Now if you select "Search for all terms" in advanced search then you would only get threads with both words in it.
That's why you get such skewed results.

Ah I can't say I understood those two options. I assumed the later was what you were refering to and vice versa.

The search function is like some dude on acid building something by throwing random parts together but is still able to find a part that's relevant to the project. Yea, the fucker needs to fix that drug habit of his.
