The problem goes a little deeper than that. Basically the website secures downloads so the links can't be bookmarked or copied and given to others who have not purchased. The download button decides if you should be given the demo or full version and whilst it works for the full version something is broken in the code that should deliver the demo. It isn't as simple as just putting up another link, the website code that delivers the download has to be fixed. There is an official answer in this thread.

I make/maintain web engines as well so I can feel their pain here. It is all fun and games until an auth token fails unexpectedly somewhere :(
