Hmmm, the only real action they did was the sinking of Bismarck. For which they used dive bombers.

Other than that, their ships pretty much got owned everywhere.

Italian navy got air-bombed at Tranto by British, after which, they didn't really do much. To be fair to them, most of the Italian warships and vehicles were not really that bad, it was just that Italian *really* didn't want to fight in another war.
