How Do Hentai Artists Work/Make A Living?

I don't know if this question was asked already but how do hentai artists work/make a living. I don't know if they are paid well compared to their non-h counterparts but how do they work without having them starving.

I am assuming that they go to Wani Magazine's studio workplace with other hentai artists in one setting, or that they work from home and the send it to their editor or something.

In order to maintain the art quality alone, they might need weeks to draw their best stuff compared to non-h counterparts which barely get any sleep, or they go work at multiple magazines/pursue other jobs related to manga? Mostly I say this because there are times an artist's new work isn't seen for months at a time.
