Manga and Doujin Pricing

Do you guys think it's rather fair to pay around $20 for a 20ish page doujin?

Been thinking about buying a significant or favorite doujin, but I rather get a tankoubon since it carries more.

All kinds of opinions welcome!

Already ask this when it first set up, I don't know the exact math but, Tax, yen conversion and shipping is your answer.

Doujins fresh from Comiket usually costs around 300-500 Yen, which is $3-$5. If Jacob has to sell it around $20, that means the cost to get it in the store is pretty much close to that.

I honestly thought many of the booths were just taking advantage of the pricing since any sort of hentai is hard to get anywhere but Japan and the internet. Not the tankoubons of course, but those regular 20ish page ones. Either way, thanks for the answer again!

I thought this was about translation pricing. I buy mine straight from kyon the goddess of my heart. Trading for American porn and such.

Getting them over here costs that much so I think its a fair price.

depends, really. i don't really like the $20-30 pricings, but if you're only buying a few then it's about right

buying in bulk however, you're probably better off getting them shipped thru a decent proxy service from overseas.

At anime expo there was a booth selling those at around 12-15 dollars apiece. I got both Manaic Street to-Love-ru doujins for 12 bucks each. I wouldn't pay anything over 20, unless it's fairly long (like around 50-60 pages)

A lot of the times you dont have much of a choice if the only place you can buy from is conventions, but you do get lucky sometimes.
