[News] Newcomer in the hentai market!

So apparently a new Hentai Company has finally come to France and shall launch officially in June of this year. The main difference is that they plan on doing both manga and anime.

If their manga are to be in french only, their anime content will be translated in multiple languages, including english.
Censors should be removed.

I will be waiting for results before jumping in joy, but I'm already interested in the project.

A visual was published for their first release.
It should be coming out for Japan Expo 2016.


A missing info was that the publisher is a branch of IDP a publisher known for pretty much taking a good chunk of the yaoi market.

Books should be available for Japan Expo too but they are not sure it could come out in time.

Resurrecting the thread after so long.

It took one year for it to launch but finally Hot Manga has begun officially running and publishing it's first volumes, four of them.

First wave of volumes is also accompanied with the DVDs I mentionned in my previous post.
the four volumes are:
Virgin Train, and Virgin Control by Crimson
I am Pure and Innocent in Lechery by Okawari
Wife Swapping Game by Yasunaga Oyama

I got me the two that interested me the most.


I shall now proceed with review of the manga material I got. (Disclaimer: I'm not paid for that)
note: despite Hot Manga desiring to publish uncensored hentai, Crimson's Virgin Train is censored. I have yet to get Virgin Control to verify if that's the same for all of Crimson's hentai books.
IMPORTANT: ALL OF THE BOOKS ARE IN FRENCH. Their DVDs are subbed in multiple languages but are Region 2 locked.

First of, the price, for just a little less than 10€, you get a book of the same dimension as Fakku's and project-H's (15,0 cm × 21,0 cm). this could come off as a surprise (this kind of format usually prices up to 15€ in France) but Hot Manga's owner, IDP is known for publishing books at pretty low costs.

For that price, the manga is pretty close to Taifu Comics quality (the other big guy in french hentai publishing). It's eerily similar to the point the spine of the book looks awfully close to Taifu's. Quality of the paper is slightly lower and the book is overall pretty flexible.
now for the stuff I noticed here:
under the dust cover, there is an alternate cover (or an alternate version of the cover), in pink in a white background, and the back cover is Hot Manga's logo. I'm not a fan of the logo being on the back, but I suppose it's better than just having the dust cover in black and white, which is a common practice.
You may have noticed but so far titles are in english, maybe it just sounds cooler, or it's due to a stigma against french titles. So far it sounds like Hot Manga avoids changing the titles too much, unlike Taifu and their habit to put "sex" in a lot of titles, I can respect that.
Comparison between a Fakku Book, a Taifu Comics release, and a Hot Manga release:

Note 1: Virgin Train's thickness is similar to Peachy-Butt Girls, still for 10€. however it has a few blank pages at the end, making its size slimmer of at least two millimeters if you don't take these into account.
Note 2: Taifu comics' book, Ruri Ruri is an example of what you find the most, but other books from Taifu can have alternative stuff under their cover, like Yamatogawa's books.

That's for the exterior and overall quality, now for the title selections.
Gotta say, it's pretty good so far.
"Virgin Train" is a pretty good one, despite being censored. The art is pretty unimpressive, but the story makes up for that.
"I am Pure and Innocent in Lechery" is good title too, with good art and a fun main story about a perverted girl.

For the titles I didn't read yet, I'll admit I have my fears toward "Wife Swapping Game", which I fear could be a pretty bad one.

Translation is pretty much up to actual standards for manga in France.

So my conclusion: 7/10
Cheap books with decent quality although far from Fakku's standards, rather good selection of titles, so far a pretty good start.
Right now, Hot Manga is the only one publishing hentai in France, after Taifu decided to temporarily stop it. They have the perfect opportunity to expand and dominate the market for a while. As such, they are pretty much set up for success.


I'll also mention their formula:
Hot Manga uses a subscription formula, albeit way different from Fakku's. Instead of reading magazines, you instead pay 20€ a month to receive 2 issues every two months, which totals 4 books and 4 DVDs + one other DVD.

tl;dr: pretty cheap way to start a hentai collection.

Awesome update, always good to hear about other sources of H. Do you know if they plan to do english language versions?

Maybe I'll go back to dou-lingo and brush up on my French...

For now, it's unlikely, they plan on updating their site to be multilingual (it's french only right now), and making some new sub formulae.
