What caused the greater number of high res doujins?

When I look at the library of petanko there is a shift from the beginning to the end where the doujins are noticably more detailed and textured.
Was there an introduction of editing software that made it possible to make higher resolution doujins/hentai easier to make?
Or did fakku enact some sort of quality control? It changed from around 2012 where anything beforehand was less detailed and visually more sketchy.
I've been a long time fakku addict but just recently started an account so I can sub my favorite providers as well as ask some burning questions. You may have seen my previous topics and think negatively but that is just how I feel whether it was out of ignorance or emotion. This isn't my first forum account for a website so I know how it goes, but please bare with me.
Or is it because specific artists take longer on their work and release more of them recently? I've loved Hisasi's work and recognize that it must take a lot of time to make it.

the res depends on the raw and who provides the raw.
- Who scans it and at what res
- whether the raw is a mag (less detail) or tank (more details)
