Who or what is "the Villager???"

Sorry for being confused, but I honestly can't understand it and am incredibly confused. Who is this villager? And why is there a huge banner of it on the front page?

I assume you're talking about the Animal Crossing Villager, who is a new character in the upcoming Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS. For whatever reason people decided he is a psycopathic killer and make images that depict that.

In the game Harvest Moon you played as the character The Villiager who you could name whatever you wanted and did mundane shit with. In the new Super Smash Bros. is gonna add Megaman, The Villager and the Wii Fit Trainer to the numerous playable characters in the game. I am super fucking excited.

The point is, he is some psychopath game character.

He is a character from Animal Crossing.

This should really be moved to games.

The villager is the player character from "Animal Crossing". It was completely random (or just really close to) which character model you would get and all you could really change about him/her was there shirt (though later installments changed that)... or if you were attacked by the bee hell spawn that infested every village.

The reason why he is portrayed as "psychotic" is because there isn't any other way to explain his appearance in the new "Super Smash Brothers", as Animal Crossing is a relatively calm and peaceful game... unless you chase the infinite roaches we now all have in our houses or are chased by the aforementioned hell spawn.

This should really be moved to IB. This thread idea was pretty stupid, and 10 seconds on Google would've sold OP's question.
I think, for me, The Villager is gonna be that joke character I play once and a while, just for a laugh or two.

I'm actually thinking that his "catching" technique (catching enemy projectiles and throwing them back) is gonna make him a pretty awesome troll character.

Funny thing is I meant to write animal crossing but my mind got stuck in harvest moon for some reason.
