Hello, Shikinokami! It's nice to meet a fellow aspiring artist. I checked out the link in your post and I agree that anyone can draw and that it's satisfying when you draw something decent and you get chills of excitement. I've been drawing my whole life but I'm just now learning the basics and fundamentals (mostly human anatomy; I've even taken life drawing classes). I've come a long way but I've still got a ways to go.

Hello, SneeakyAsian and Winged-Fapper! I'm currently practicing human anatomy and I've gotten a lot better. I took a life drawing class and bought a crapton of reference books. They've helped me tremendously and I'm reaping the harvest of my hard work. I draw in mostly pencil (graphite) and pen; I've tried charcoal but it's too darn messy! I'd post some of my drawings but I don't own a scanner. It's a pleasure to meet you both!

[color=#993300]Ah makes sense, it truly depends on the person in how they learn. Me, I just grab my favorite 5B pencil and find stuff to draw, I mostly learned through mentors on Pixiv and using projectors to make things larger and copying. Don't worry too much about posting art work. If anything, a simple camera shot can do and I can go ahead and make it larger or something of the like

Those are interesting ways to learn. I used to watch a lot of professional artist Mark Crilley's videos on YouTube but I stop because my eyes would become sore after looking at the screen for too long. I mainly use a 2H Faber-Castell graphite pencil. I love it so much; it's very practical. It's pretty sharpened down and covered with teeth marks but it's my treasure.
