I am known by many names, alextepes, then lmotaku, Private Larry, Jim, Jim the overseer, Alex, or asshole. Any of those will work.

I've been online since 1995 with good ole StarCraft.
Shortly after that, I got interested in chat sites and RP. First I was on some java chat through an email site and then got coerced into using an mIRC client instead of using the java one. That's when my internet journey truly began. Wasn't long and I had an IRC server up for my friends and I, which led me to learn mIRC scripting, then HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I likely migrated to linux around this time. (I was 13-14) Wasn't long and a friend mentioned that he'd like a Ragnarok Online private server, and so I learned about emulation and server hosting a lot more and hosted that, too. I learned Lua and a bunch of things related to how games worked through that experience. For some reason, no matter what I did I just kept coding things when people asked me to. I had a moderately large video site by the time I was 18-19, but fell short due to advertising not keeping up with bandwidth costs. These days, it's much cheaper to do the same thing and so there are hundreds of websites geared towards that particular type of service.

All the while, I would build things in-house like my desktop PCs and servers for beta testing before going dedicated with some of my projects. My natural draw towards technology and code led me to startup my own small company geared towards web development, hosting, programming, building and repairing computers and I work a second part time job doing something more normal for the union benefits. lol

When I was a teen I spent a lot of my time being a hikikomori, but I made some lasting and some fleeting friendships over the years. The only thing I could say is I taught myself a lot, and the varied social experiences I did have led me to stop being like that and now I'm more social than I'd like to admit, but it was inevitable that I would have to eventually support myself outside just freelance work online.

Nowadays I just do little pet projects, game, and spend as much money as possible while keeping bills paid and my PC top-end. :P

That's me. It's now 2016 and I'm 27. :( My life went by so fast. xD
